Intimate and micro weddings stayed with us for good. Couples love them, as it gives them a chance to really take in the day and celebrate their love with those who are closest to them. When it came to finding a perfect wedding photographer for their big day, Sunny and Jerry wanted to make sure they were going to work with someone who is easy to work with and has a mix of a documentary and minimalistic style of shooting. They were looking for an Oakville or Burlington-based wedding photographer, and that’s how our paths crossed.
An intimate gathering
Sunny and Jerry invited a total of 16 people to their wedding so they could have a relaxing time, enjoying the company of those who are closest to them. This also meant they could take in the beautiful scenery of the Gairloch Gardens.
Getting ready | Family home, Oakville
While Jerry was helping to decorate The Studio with their homemade decorations with the help of their family members, Sunny was getting ready with her mom and her two cats.
The first look & wedding photoshoot | Gairloch Gardens, Oakville
Along the stone pathway of the Gairloch Gardens, Sunny walked up behind Jerry for their first look. Sunny carried a bouquet of soft, pastel-coloured flowers and they complimented her lace top dress with a deep V-neck. Jerry wore a simple navy blue suit that was perfect against the lake background they had for some of their pictures together.
As this couple was having such an intimate wedding they opted to not have a wedding party. This meant that we could get more pictures of just the couple, capturing their love on their big day.
Ceremony & Reception | The Studio at Gairloch Gardens, Oakville
The ceremony was in the beautiful little white chapel on the grounds of Gairloch Gardens. Sunny and Jerry were married in front of their closest family and friends.
After the ceremony, Sunny changed into a lavender off-the-shoulder dress for the celebration. We took some time to take some more pictures of the couple as they walked around the gardens.
The couple enjoyed an intimate gathering with their guests after the ceremony, and we able to spend their day relaxing with the people they love most. It was small and casual, which was essential to thecouple.
I had such an amazing experience photographing this micro wedding, and I enjoyed the time I got to spend capturing their love.
