Four years ago, Dee and Darren were just starting out in their relationship and were looking forward to the future they would share together. A few short years later, they get engaged in Bali to start their life together.
At the very end of the blog post, you can find a link to the wedding video of Dee’s and Darren’s wedding day.
Why Paletta Mansion is one of my favourite wedding venues | Burlington, ON
As a Burlington-based wedding photographer and videographer, we know Paletta Mansion inside out. This historic mansion is just steps from the lakefront and provides a gorgeous space for up to 90 guests. We are proud to say, that we are members of the Paletta Mansion preferred vendor list.
Dee and Darren chose this location because it has everything in one space for them: from getting ready to the ceremony and reception spaces; this wedding venue was exactly what they were looking for. From a wedding vendor perspective, the less driving from one spot to the other on your wedding day, the less time you waste. You don’t have to organize transport and worry about traffic.
This mansion was built in the first couple of decades of the twentieth century and was the last of its kind in terms of design and quality. The grounds are spread out over 14 acres of land, and all of this property gives incredible opportunities for pictures of your big day that are unlike any other. As a Paletta Mansion couple, you have a priority in using the lakefront space. That means that I can kindly kick out anyone who is in your photos 😉 no waiting for the best spots to be available, which is often the case at the reception venues hosting more than one wedding at the same time.
Getting ready | Bridal Suite & Library at Paletta Mansion
Paletta Mansion is a two-story wedding venue that has a bridal suite called Warman Room on the second floor and a groom’s room on the first floor called Library or The Royal Bank Room. You can comfortably get ready with your bridal party without stressing about jumping into your significant other before the first look.
Dee started out this perfect day by getting ready with her close friends and family. They brought in snacks to enjoy while laughing and getting their hair and make-up done.
Dee chose a simple satin gown with off-the-shoulder sleeves. This dress went perfectly with her theme for the day: stress-free and fun. Both Dee and Darren wanted this day to be as carefree and family-oriented as possible so that everyone could be present and enjoy the day.
Darren was close by, getting ready with his groomsmen and the most important guest of the day: Mochi, the couple’s dog. Dee and Darren have so much love for their four-legged friend; he is their whole world. On this very special day, Mochi was there to celebrate with them being their ring bearer, and he even got his own special piece of (dog-friendly) cake.
The first look
Before the wedding ceremony, the couple decided they wanted to do a first look so they would have a few moments to themselves before the wedding ceremony started.
I was happy to capture the look on their faces because you should see just how much love they have for each other and how magical the first look moment was for both of them.
Outdoor Wedding Ceremony overlooking the Ontario Lake
With exclusive use of the property, guests were able to gather looking onto the water as the bride was escorted down the aisle by her father to her awaiting groom.
Mochi was so well-behaved during the ceremony and was happy to watch his parents getting married. He even brought the couple their rings to exchange as part of their ceremony.
Reception at the Great Room | Paletta Mansion, Burlington
After Dee and Darren were married, everyone went to the reception space on the second floor of Paletta Mansion in the Great Room overlooking Ontario Lake.
Mochi was happy to greet all the guests while Dee and Daren were taking pictures on the beautiful grounds. It was wonderful to photograph this couple because you can see how much they love each other and how happy they are together.
Walking into their reception space was beautiful – they had white tablecloths with pale pink floral centrepieces. The bright space and the decorations were simple and classic – precisely what suited this couple.
Their family and friends gave speeches to wish the couple a happy and wonderful life together. After dinner, the guests enjoyed dessert and dancing with the couple on the first floor. To end the end, Mochi got to dance with the guests to show off his skills and enjoy a few treats.
